The Story of a Life Time
In the book Night by: Ellie Wiesel, he describes and tells the tale of how he and his father made it threw concentration camps during the Holocaust. In the preface and foreword of this book Ellie talks about his survival and why he survived. Some of the reasons he stated where so that he could leave behind a legacy of words, of memories, to help prevent history from replacing it. Ellie wrote so he would not go mad, he wanted to make sure that this never happened again. Ellie wanted to preserve a record of the ordeal he endured as an adolescent, at an age when one’s knowledge of death and evil should be limited to what one discovers in literature. Also to understand the nature of madness, the immense and terrible happening that corrupted in history from replacing itself. With all of the reasons he has stated the most important one was that he needed to give some meaning to his survival. Ellie believed the importance to emphasize how strongly he felt that the books, just like people, have a destiny. He believed that God is love and that if the almighty is almighty, the last word for each of us belongs to Him. Ellie writes to free his words and tell about his survival.
